2 Hours Workshop Shifting left with SAST, use DefenseCode Thunderscan onboard SAST into SDLC

It’s time for the E-SPIN 16th anniversary celebration to begin. As per our earlier celebration opening statements, it is time for E-SPIN to giveaways for the customers in this period of time. For all the customers and business partners, please participate in this fully sponsored by E-SPIN and DefenseCode event, you are welcome to share it with your colleagues who you believe will benefit from it, that will ensure you acquire the specific skill in this workshop/hand-on lab approach. A joint certificate will be issued for participant to endorsed participant, where you can use it to claim your continuity professional development (CPD) with your current ongoing industrial certification program. Do not leave until the lucky draw at the end of the event as well, as being an additional token of appreciation E-SPIN given.

Be note it is a workshop, no webinar, so participants are expected to follow the instructor to perform some of the tasks and steps to ensure you at the end of the workshop acquired the skillset, just like the program objective, to transfer one skill at the end of the session for participants.

About DefenseCode

DefenseCode, is one of the E-SPIN active supplier vendors for years. We are pleased and pleased to arrange the 2 hours workshop series as part of the 16th anniversary celebration event for our customer and business partners who we do business with over the years. DefenseCode clients come from the e-banking, finance, telecommunications, insurance, legal, IT and retail sectors across the globe.

DefenseCode delivers solutions and services designed to analyze and test web, desktop and mobile applications for security vulnerabilities using Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST, BlackBox Testing) and Static Application Security Testing (SAST, WhiteBox Testing) technologies. DefenseCode has in-depth experience of penetration testing, zero-day vulnerability research, security audit and source code security analysis.

For static application security testing (SAST), DefenseCode technologies are used widely across the globe with their ThunderScan SAST product line for on premise, on container or on cloud basis, for use as standalone desktop to scalable multi instance server solution used within DevSecOps CI/CD toolchain integration basis. Its extensive programming languages and framework support, and proactive in making it hassle free to be used with DevSecOps is customer enterprise environment integration friendly.

DefenseCode’s various technologies are used for demonstrating industry or regulatory compliance and adopting Agile software development, DevSecOps, Continuous testing, and Test automation. Parasoft’s various technologies are continued cited, awards and recognition by and reports by software industry publications, from statics application security testing (SAST) technology, effective dynamic application security testing (DAST), strong SAST/DAST combo integration and complete application security testing (AST) platform integration for software development (Dev), quality assurance (QA) and operations security (OpSec).

Why static application security testing does matter as importance skill to acquire

Static application security testing is about analyzing the source code to find potential vulnerabilities, bugs and security threats and issues in the quality of the code. This will help in revealing any issues in the early stages of development, which can be rectified during the development stage, allowing developers to develop a strong code base.

By onboarding SAST into SDLC,  automating the code analysis saves time and helps identify issues that may not be detected otherwise, as per the modern business requirements for faster cycle of roll out better code for the software into the production.

SAST enables DevTest or QA or Operations Security teams to get access to source code security, the core for all the software vulnerability and threat, and follow the remediation to fix the code to be a better quality program. No to mentioned it has tons of vulnerability can be detect in the SAST only, as DAST due to modern application secure framework and matured programming languages, become harder to detect for modern application vulnerability to report for the developer, unless Operations security can turn toward more value added manual application security testing or penetration testing to captured production exploit they are capable to findings out, which typically required skill set with manual exploitation, that go beyond typical users just use automated DAST.

ThunderScan SAST

ThunderScan is a SAST (Static Application Security Testing, WhiteBox Testing) solution for performing deep and extensive security analysis of application source code. ThunderScan is easy to use, requires almost no user input and can be deployed during or after development with easy integration into your DevOps environment and CI/CD pipeline. ThunderScan SAST solution provides an excellent way to automate code inspection as an alternative to the demanding and time-consuming procedure of manual code reviews.

ThunderScan SAST it is possible to scan millions of source code lines across 29+ different programming languages and various programming frameworks within hours or even minutes. Scalability combined with repeatability of automation provides an easy and painless way to introduce security into your DevOps for organizations ranging from small development teams up to the largest enterprises.
