Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is industry standard, an image editor that is pixel-based. Its a best imaging and graphic design software is at the core of just about every creative project, from photo editing and compositing to digital painting, animation, and graphic design. And now its can harness the power of Photoshop across desktop and iPad to create wherever inspiration strikes.

Photoshop has the ability to edit the raster images in multiple layers. It control the opacity of each layer to create different adjustments to the image so a precise look can be obtained. The actions wish to take can be recorded in sequence so they can be repeated with one-click convenience on future images. Its can also duplicate layers, add specific effects, and much more. Users must generally work with one image at a time, but with the various layers and other controls incorporated onto this platform, it becomes possible to fully edit any image to create a desired look.

The first version created in 1988 on macOS & Windows. They have two latest version of Photoshop, which is Photoshop on the iPad 2020 (1.2) and Photoshop desktop 2020 (21.1) for Mac/Windows platform, released in November 2019.

More Type settings

With this release, you can work with more Type settings and add some stylish text to your composite. To do so, simply:

1. Select the text that you want to modify in your Type layer.
2. Choose Text in the Layer Properties panel that opens by default in the Type mode.
3. Under Text, aside from Font size, you can set a value for — Tracking, Leading, Baseline shift, Vertical scale, and Horizontal scale. You can also work with various character formatting options — All caps, Small caps, Superscript, Subscript, Underline, and Strike through.
4. Tap the undo ( ) icon to revert the last action performed. Tap redo ( ) to restore the undone action.
5. Tap Done to apply your modified Type settings. Tap Cancel to exit the Type mode.

Simplify selections with Object Select

Powered by Adobe Sensei, the Object Select () tool enables you to make single object selections in a complex composite while working with Photoshop on the iPad.

To select an object using Object Select, do the following:

1. Double tap or long press Lasso (default) or any other active selection tool from the toolbar to bring up more selection tools.
2. Tap to choose Object Select.
3. Tap and draw a selection boundary around the object you want to select on your composite. Photoshop automatically selects the object inside the defined region.

Enhanced Content-Aware Fill

In this release of Photoshop, you can now iteratively fill multiple areas of an image without having to leave the Content-Aware Fill workspace window. After you get the desired fill result for a selection in your image, click the new Apply button in the lower-right corner to commit fill changes and keep the workspace window open. After applying the fill, use Lasso Tool or Polygonal Lasso Tool within the Content-Aware Fill workspace to make another selection to fill. Also, you can now sample source pixels from all visible layers in the document by selecting the new Sample All Layers option. The Sampling Area Options appear in the Content-Aware Fill panel on the right side of the workspace.

To try out the new options, open an image and select an area to fill. Then choose Edit > Content-Aware Fill.

Improved Lens Blur quality

The new Lens Blur alogorithm now uses your computer’s graphics card (GPU) to generate blurrier edges on objects that are in front of the focal plane, a more realistic bokeh look, correct color handling for CMYK and LAB color modes, and more colorful specular highlights in your photos. To enable graphics processor in Photoshop, choose Edit (Windows) / Photoshop (macOS) > Preferences > Performance, the select Use Graphics Processor in the Preferences dialog.

Performance improvements

Photoshop’s user interface is now more responsive to your mouse and stylus movements. You’ll notice smoother panning and zooming in your documents. With increased responsiveness to your inputs, you’ll also notice improvements in many other UI interactions, especially where painting or dragging actions are involved.

Select subject

Powered by Adobe Sensei, the Select Subject tool is trained to identify the most prominent subject in your document and quickly make a selection of the subject in a single tap.

To make a selection using the Select Subject tool, do the following:

1. Double tap the Lasso (default) or other active selection tool from the toolbar to bring up more selection tool options.
2. Tap Select Subject ().  The Select Subject tool automatically selects the main subject in the active layer of your document.

Cloud documents

Cloud documents are Adobe’s cloud-native files that you can easily open and edit in any of Adobe’s compatible apps. Cloud documents enable you to seamlessly access your work across devices. Simply connect to the Internet, open your PSD from the Cloud documents tab in the app home screen and pick where you left off.

Saving your creative work as a cloud document provides you with exclusive benefits:

• Seamlessly access files across devices: Access your work from anywhere—Photoshop on your desktop, on your laptop, Photoshop on the iPad, and Adobe Fresco. Your work is saved safely in the cloud wherever you work.
• Use one file across products: Simply create a cloud document in Photoshop on your desktop and work on it in Adobe Fresco or Photoshop on the iPad. Or vice versa.
• Keep your files up-to-date and safe: Cloud documents automatically save your most recent version. Meaning you can pick up from where you left off across your devices, whether sitting at your desktop or while on the couch.
• Work offline: Your offline version will automatically sync when you reconnect to the Internet. For Photoshop on the desktop, working offline has not changed from previous versions.

Cloud documents, Creative Cloud files, and other synced files are part of the Creative Cloud services included with your membership and count toward your Creative Cloud storage allocation.

Improvements to presets

Presets have been reimagined to bring a whole new experience in the latest release of Photoshop.

From the menu bar, go to Window > Swatches, Gradients, Patterns, Shapes, or Styles. You now get:

• New modern default presets like gradients, patterns, shapes and styles.
• Dedicated panels for gradients, patterns, and shapes.
• Ability to manage your presets by organizing them into groups. Simply drag and move the presets to rearrange and reorder within the panels.
• Ability to drag gradients, patterns, swatches, and styles from the presets panel onto the canvas.
• A live preview on the canvas when you click through your presets to try different looks.

You can still access the familiar legacy presets by enabling the Legacy Presets option from the contextual panel menu.

New Object Selection tool

Powered by Adobe Sensei, the new Object Selection tool simplifies the process selecting a single object, multiple objects, or parts of an object in an image—people, cars, furniture, pets, clothes, and more.

Simply draw a rectangular region or lasso around the object and the Object Selection tool will automatically select the object inside the defined region, speeding up even the most complex selections.

You can access the Object Selection tool at the following locations:

• From the main application Tools panel in Photoshop, located in the same group as the Quick Selection and Magic Wand tool.
• From the Tools panel in the Select And Mask workspace.
