Terms definition:

General Availability

  • Ipswitch provides technical support to customers under warranty or covered by a current service agreement for their product. Technical support includes the ability to log cases thru the customer portals, online support such as tutorials and demos, and access to our Knowledge Base .
  • Ipswitch reserves the right to require that a customer upgrade to the most current version of their product to resolve a product issue.
  • Product updates consist of maintenance releases, service packs, patches and/or hot fixes. Service packs, patches and hot fixes are not available for all products all the time and the determination for such is at Ipswitch’s discretion.
  • General Availability phase starts when a software update (Major, Minor or Patch) is made available for download on Ipswitch web site or Customer Portal. Former major release is also treated as being in General Availability phase. For example, when WUG2016 is GA, WUG16.4 is still in the GA phase.

Sunset

  • Ipswitch provides technical support to customers under a current service agreement for their product. Technical support includes the ability to log cases thru the customer portals, online support such as tutorials and demos, and access to our Knowledge Base.
  • No updates are provided. If a product defect is found and verified, Ipswitch may decide to issue a workaround. Ipswitch does not develop additional features and/or functionalities for the product and will advise migration to a newer minor version or related general availability product.
  • Sunset phase starts when a major product release becomes the second oldest major release. For example, when WUG2017 becomes GA, WUG2016 is still in GA phase, but WUG16.X enters Sunset phase because it becomes the second oldest major release.

End of Life

  • Ipswitch will no longer provide any defect corrections or develop any additional features or functionality.  Technical Support assistance is available for all product versions for customers who are covered by a service agreement for that product.
  • For End of Life versions, technical support will offer ‘best effort’ support which may require the customer upgrade to the most current version of their product to resolve a known product issue that is resolved within a more current version.
Online help content including the community and Knowledge Base articles will continue to be available as additional resources.
  • EOL status begins the day after Sunset stage ends.
