Hari Raya Aidilfitri is celebrate right after Ramadan, on first Shawwal every month in the Islamic calendar. Syawal is the tenth month in the Islamic calendar and also known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast. Some countries including Malaysia called Shawwal as Month of Forgiveness.
Traditionally, Aidilfitri begins at sunset on the night of the first sighting of the crescent moon. If the moon is not observed immediately after the 29th day of the previous lunar month then the holiday is celebrated the following day. Aidilfitru is celebrated for one to two days, depending on the country. It is forbidden to fast on the Day of Aidilfitri and a specific prayer is nominated for this day. As an obligatory act of charity, money is paid to the poor and the needy (called Zakat) before performing the Aidilfitri prayer.
During Hari Raya Aidilfitri, most people will going back to their hometown gathered together to celebrate with all their family.
