E-SPIN Group Philippines would like to take this opportunity to wish Araw ng Kagitingan 2022 to all Philippines customers, channel partners and suppliers. We hope that everyone will have a meaningful day on this significant national holiday.
Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) is an important day in Philippines history. Also known as Bataan Day or Bataan Corregidor Day, Araw ng Kagitingan is celebrated every year on 9th April in Philippines to commemorate the fall of the Bataan peninsula during the second world war.
As a matter of fact, 9th April marked a very painful memory in Philippines history. During that day, about over 76,000 Filipino, Chinese and American soldiers turned prisoners after losing their battle in defending Bataan to the Japanese. Additionally, the event also lead to another sorrowful event where thousands of the prisoners died due to starvation, exhaustion or in the hand of the Japanese as they marched 150 km to the prison camp located in San Fernando.
While Araw ng Kagitingan is an inevitable event in war, it is however, became an opportunity to the allies as it hindered Japanese progress in the pacific which eventually results in the allied victory.
War has always bring disruptive impacts physically, emotionally, also economically. This year, while our battle against Covid-19 continues, we are shocked by the Russia-Ukraine War news. The technologies we have today had allowed us to witness how destructive it was to both countries, thus, it is imaginable to us on the disastrous consequences of Araw ng Kagitingan to our veterans during that event. With this realisation, let’s us celebrate Araw ng Kagitingan with full spirit and patriotism as an appreciation to our veterans’ sacrifices in facing such event.
Again, to all Philippines customers, channel partners and suppliers, we wish everyone a remarkable Araw ng Kagitingan 2022. E-SPIN is always and forever grateful for your continuous support. Feel free to contact E-SPIN for any inquiry so we can be part of your project or operation requirements.
As I read the news, I’ve gained many lessons and additional informations about the news. I had many realizations because of what happened during Bataan Day and I felt sorry to those soldiers who suffered a lot just to defend our country. I know it was hard so I salute to our strong soldiers that are willing to sacrifice themselves just for the sake of everyone.
Those soldiers became one of my inspirations to be strong in every battle that I have to face in order to achieve success. I know that we can’t avoid failure and the easiest way to solve this is to accept the reality and learned from our mistakes. We must value the Day of Valor because it has a lot of painful histories and I believe that we must value those people who sacrificed their life for us.
Someone says, Why do we celebrate the Day of Valor or also known as “Araw ng Kagitingan”? Well, based on my prior knowledge, we are celebrating the Day of Valor or “Araw ng Kagitingan” to commemorates the fall of the Bataan peninsula during the second world war. This historical day was considered holiday, which was for the victory for the opposing forces, the heroic defense of Bataan by those soldiers was seen as a key event in the war, as it allowed the allies time to prepare for later battles which halted the Japanese progress in the pacific and eventually led to a turn in the fortunes and allied victory.
In addition, The Bataan peninsula was eventually retaken by American and Filipino forces on February 8th 1945 and to mark the day, veterans from the second world war will parade in many cities across the Philippines. The key event takes place at the Mt. Samat Shrine (pictured above) in Bataan, which honors of the heroism and sacrifice of the Filipino and American troops during World War II.
