Malaysia is one of the world’s few elective monarchies where the Paramount Ruler, the Supreme Head or the King, the constitutional monarch and head of state of Malaysia (Yang di-Pertuan Agong) is elected by the Conference of Rulers. The Agong’s Birthday is oriented around the celebration of the Malaysian King’s Birthday. It is declared as a national holiday and this year the celebrations falls on the 6th June 2022. Thus, E-SPIN Group Malaysia operation will be closed for the date.
The current Yang di-Pertuan Agong is His Majesty Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah. He is the 16th King replacing Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan, who were abdicated on 6th January 2019. He was elected on 24th January, at a special meeting of the Conference of Rulers; he took the oath of office and was sworn in at the Istana Negara (National Palace of Malaysia) on 31st January 2019.
