Mawlid Al-Nabi or Maulidur Rasul (commonly in Malaysia) is celebrated by Muslims all over the world to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), or in full Abu al-Qāsim Muhammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Muttalib ibn Hāshim was born in Mecca on the 12th rabi’al-awwal of the Islamic calendar.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), is the last messenger of God, the best role model to humans with the morals of Holy Qur’an. He is good mannered, generous, selfless, humble, patience and always reminded Muslims on being kind and benevolent;
“If anyone fulfils his brother’s needs, Allah will fulfil his needs. If one relieves a Muslim of his troubles, Allah will relieve his troubles on the Day of Resurrection.” Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Sahih Bukhari.
“The most perfect believer in faith is the one whose character is finest and who is kindest to his wife.” Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
“Every good deed is charity” Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Sahih Bukhari.
There are many practices that can be done to celebrate this holy day where our role model was born and bringing light to the world and that include doing good deeds, reading Prophet Muhammad Biography (PBUH), practicing sunnah and reciting salawat and the holy Qur’an.
That being said, again E-SPIN wishes all Muslims Mawlid al-nabi and may this day lift our love to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as much as his love to his Ummah.
