WhatsUp Gold 2018 Service Pack 2 v18.0.2

WhatsUp Gold 2018 Service Pack 2 v18.0.2 just release on 28-Aug-2018. This post will look into whats news for existing and new customer in single post.

It includes a number of key security and usability enhancements for WhatsUp Gold 2018:

  • Tor (Dark Net) detection and reporting
  • ServiceNow integration for directly creating trouble tickets
  • Dell Fluid FS storage device support
  • Microsoft Hyper-V 2016 support
  • Simpler dashboard view migration from WhatsUp Gold v16
  • Other usability enhancements and defect fixes
  • Implemented in-product upgrade notification.

  • Added the ability to migrate dashboard views from previous versions of WhatsUp Gold.

  • Important: WhatsUp Gold attempts to migrate all users’ dashboards and reports with their current settings. However, some report settings may not be compatible with the latest version of WhatsUp Gold. In this case, some settings must be adjusted after migration to fully restore dashboard views and individual reports to their previous configuration.

  • Simplified the method by which users interact with dashboard views by relocating and reorganizing menu options and controls resulting in additional on-screen workspace.

  • Added the ability to use Dynamic groups in Map View/Custom Maps.

  • Added a new Network Traffic Analyzer Dark Web (Tor) Usage threshold.

  • Added a new Meraki Device Status (Cloud API) active monitor.

  • Added a new ServiceNow Incident Creation Action.

  • Made improvements to the Device Uptime report including the ability to specify if a device should be considered in a Down state based on ANY monitor or ALL monitors being down.
  • Made improvements to the Discovery Scan Log.
  • Made improvements to the Down Active Monitors report.
  • Added a new Discovery Scan Results report.
  • Added the ability to see all device IP addresses, names, and MAC addresses in a single dialog.

  • Enhanced map view filtering options to include MAC address.
  • Implemented the ability to hide disabled monitors from the device properties interface.
  • Added Top Sender/Receiver Countries Network Traffic Analyzer dashboard reports.
  • Updated Exchange Online/Outlook 365 application monitoring profile in response to Microsoft deprecating cmdlets that WhatsUp Gold used to collect applicable performance data.
  • Enhanced configuration options for DNS Active Monitor.
